Honest and affordable food served here! They're not winning awards for innovation or amazing luxury ingredients but the simplicity is part of the charm. You're just eating in a cozy store. Kitchen is open and people are friendly! My chicken pasta special was great on a rainy afternoon!

After walking along the Fraser River in Burnaby Fraser Foreshore Park, we decided to have a quick bite but quickly realized that being in an office/industrial area, we don't have much choice. Luckily, Old Farmhouse Kitchen was still open and very close. Since we came forty minutes before closing, I didn't get to try food items I was interested in since they ran out of them. We still got a few things, including vanilla milkshake and latte, to highlight Avalon's main product, which is milk. I tried Avalon produce before, so I was delighted with both items. The milkshake was simply perfect and not too sweet. The interior is pretty cool and cozy with lots of great decorations. We ended up getting some milk produce to go. Overall it was a great experience, and I can see myself coming back. I only wish this joint was located somewhere more accessible.

The cafe is located near the industrial area and hence a little out of the way. It is near the Fraser river though, so a meal before or after a walk by the river is always fun! The servers were friendly and food was served promptly. The food seemed fresh and I also bought a chocolate cookie. It was great! It wasn’t too sweet; just right for my taste buds! I’m not sure if there are discounts for the diary products sold here, but they do have a variety: milk, yogurt, ice cream, and even homemade soup! I purchased one to try and it was savoury, but it is still best to have it in store.

The staff here are so friendly, caring, patient, and kind! I accidentally left my wallet at home today, which means I couldn't pay by credit card, debit card, or cash. So I set up Apple Pay and it was my first time to use that method to pay. The ladies at the cashier were so nice in walking through the payment process with me. It was not superficial, they genuinely were helpful. I noticed that when the new staff did not know which buttons to press at the cashier, her colleagues were swift to give helpful instructions. The food here is great as always. I got a yummy chocolate ice cream, mango pudding, rice crispies, and a soda pop. The environment is very positive and energetic. I can see Avalon is a great company and the staff are being taken care of. What a wonderful place!
